Walter, Bruno

(1876-1962)
   German conductor. Born in Berlin, He was opera coach at the Municipal Opera of Cologne. Later he became assistant conductor of the Hamburg Stadt-Theatre. In 1896 he became second conductor in Breslau and the prinicipal conductor in Pressburg. In 1900 he became conductor at the Berlin Opera. Later he became assistant at the Vienna Opera. In 1923 he went to Munich where he conducted performances of Mozart operas. When the Nazis came to power, he conducted in Amsterdam, Salzburg and Vienna. He then went to France, and later to the US.
